The Spacedec Acrobat range of fully-ergonomic monitor arms enables individual users to create the most comfortable working environment. Monitors can be adjusted from a seated position with minimum effort thanks to the gas strut mechanism. This innovative design feature allows the screen to be glided into the optimum position in terms of height, viewing angle, focal distance and landscape to portrait orientation. This installation video covers a family of three Spacedec Acrpbat monitor arms: the single articulated arm, the swing arm and the sing arm double. All three support displays weighing up to 9kg or 20 pounds.
With the Acrobat range of monitor arms, installation is quick and simple. All three models in this range are easily attached to most work surfaces, using either the bolt through or desk clamp mounting options. Everything you need to install the monitor arms, whichever method you choose, comes included in the box.
The Desk Clamp mount is easily attached to your desk without the need for any specialised tools. Use the Allen key supplied to tighten the clamp screw firmly on the desk and you’re ready for the next stage of installation.
The Bolt Through System requires slightly more effort in installation, but it gives you greater flexibility to choose the best position for your monitor. With this option you’re not limited to positioning the arm near the outside edge of the desk.
Once you’ve installed your mounting option, position the post onto the base which has already been fixed onto your workspace. Then slide the monitor arm over the top of the post. Drop the treaded rod inside the post and then tighten firmly using the top cap tool supplied.
Next, attach the screen to the mounting head. These mounts have a universal mounting head, which makes them suitable for screens with two different mounting hole patterns - either 75 by 75mm, that’s three by three inches, or the larger 100 by 100mm, that’s four by four inches. Both these VESA configurations are compatible with this mount. This gives you much greater flexibility when choosing a monitor. All you have to do is use the simple extension clips to attach the larger mounting pattern.
To attach the screen to the mounting head, you’ll need a Phillips screw driver and an assistant to help you support the screen. Use the screws supplied to fix the monitor in place. The procedure is the same for any of the Acrobat arms- articulated, swing and double.
Depending on the weight of the monitor, you might need to make adjustments to the Ball Joint Mechanism. This feature holds the screen at the desired tilt, to create the best viewing angle to prevent screen glare. Adjust the four tension screws located around the Ball Joint to achieve the tilt you require using the supplied Allen Key.
You may also need to control the amount of resistance in the Pivot Head to suit the weight of your display. Use the Allen key to increase the resistance of the Pivot Head to suit heavier loads.
Finally, arm adjustments may also be required to allow for display weight. Once adjusted correctly the screen will stay in the desired position.
Now all you need to do is move your monitor into the optimum working position. Here’s the real advantage of a Spacedec Acrobat monitor arm. They are fully-ergonomic by design, which means they are easily adjusted to suit the individual user from the comfort of an office chair. The display can be rotated 40 degrees in any direction and this ensures you don’t have to suffer with screen glare or moving your posture just to see the whole image.
You can position the screen in either landscape or portrait and move it to share the display with colleagues. Different users can change the height of the screen, by simply gliding it into place using the gas strut mechanism that’s built into the arm.
Finally it’s possible to achieve the correct focal distance between the screen and the user to ensure ultimate visual comfort. This is done by simply pulling the screen forward or pushing it back. The ideal focal position is just one arm’s length away from the user.
To finish your installation, cable management will give your desk space a clean and professional look that’s free from wire clutter. Use cable wrap and clips to ensure that cables are neatly managed along the arm and down the central post.
The overall effect is a highly productive workspace with superior control over monitor position.
