This installation video covers a family of three Visidec Focus monitor arms: the single articulated arm, the double articulated arm and the Micro. Each model offers different solutions for different environments, but all are characterized by a sleek, space-saving design that adds style to any desktop. All three support displays of up to 8 kg, that’s 17 and a half pounds.
The Focus Single articulated arm is ideal for any office or home where one screen is required. The double articulated arm provides the user with a brilliantly designed mounting solution for applications that require two screens. Finally, the Focus micro is specifically for areas where space is limited.
Whichever Focus arm is right for you, each is loaded with features to enhance productivity by increasing comfort as you work. The beautiful lines and durable, polished, aluminium finish will compliment any work environment.
All three of these Focus arms are quick and simple to install, attaching to most work surfaces using one of the two mounting options included in the installation kit.
The Desk Clamp Mount is easily assembled and can be attached to your desk without the need for any specialised tools. Use the Allen key supplied and simply tighten the screw firmly on the desk. Your mount is now ready for the next stage of installation.
Alternatively you can mount using the “bolt through system” which gives you greater flexibility to choose the optimum position for your monitor. Without being limited to attaching the mount near the outside edge of the desk, you can create the most ergonomic working environment.
Once you’ve chosen your mounting option, the arm now needs to be attached to the pole. This process is identical for single, double or micro arms. Simply take the monitor arm and slide it onto the pole, ensuring you engage with the locking grip.
Because installation of Focus arms is so simple, all that’s left to do is attach the screen to the arm and set it to the correct working position.
Using the Flexistar mechanism, attach the arm to the monitor. This is a unique mounting head that makes finding the right mount for your screen even easier. Most of today’s screens up to 24 inches come with two mounting hole patterns - either 75 by 75mm, that’s three by three inches, or the larger 100 by 100mm, that’s four by four inches. The FlexiStar is compatible with both mounting hole patterns due to its extendable tabs.
All you need to attach the screen to the mounting head is a Phillips screw driver and an assistant to help you support the screen. Simply attach the monitor using the screws supplied. The procedure is the same for any of the Focus arms- single, double or micro.
The Focus arm can now be adjusted to suit your screen weight. This is done using the Allen key supplied, making small adjustments as shown here and here. After adjustment, the key can be conveniently stored for easy access at the top of the pole.
Your screen is now ready to be set to the correct ergonomic position to prevent strain and injury from poor working posture. Key adjustments include focal length and vertical tilt to reduce glare and prevent eye strain. Depending on the application you’re using, landscape to portrait rotation allows for better use of specialized software.
You can also set the height of your screen by releasing the Locking Grip and sliding the arm along the pole to the desired position.
The arm can also rotate around the pole making it easy to share the screen with others.
To complete your desk mount with a professional and clean finish, use cable clips and locking balls to neatly stow cables along the arm and down the pole.
